Paid Family and Medical Leave is coming Jan. 1:
At some time in our lives, we all need to give or receive care?whether recovering from a serious illness or injury, caring for a new child or helping an aging parent. Paid Family and Medical Leave is a statewide insurance program that will give every eligible employee in Washington access to up to 12 weeks of paid leave starting in 2020.
Businesses of all sizes must start collecting premiums for on Jan. 1, 2019. It?s easy to get started, and there are special grants available for small businesses.
Here are the top three ways to stay informed and get ready:

  1. Download the employer toolkit here - it includes what you need to get your business and employees ready for Jan. 1, 2019.
  2. Join an upcoming webinar to learn about the program and ask questions. Information and registration can be found at www.paidleave.wa.gov/events.
  3. Connect and stay informed by signing up for the Paid Family and Medical Leave e-mail list and following @PaidLeaveWA on social media.
