Dear VCU community,
Recognizing the impact of COVID-19 and maintaining the university’s dedication to limit the spread of the virus, courses in summer 2020 sessions beginning before July 9 will all move to remote instruction (online). Summer 2020 sessions that begin on July 9 and July 20 will maintain their currently scheduled format. We will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and will be prepared to move the July 9 and July 20 sessions to remote instruction (online) if required. We anticipate making a final announcement about the July 9 and July 20 sessions no later than May 29.
In addition, VCU is pleased to announce discounted per credit hour rates on select mandatory fees for summer 2020 only:
- The University Fee will be discounted by fifty percent (50%) - from $57 per credit hour to $26 per credit hour (capped at $339).
- The Online Fee of $55 per credit hour (capped at three credit hours) will be waived for the summer session.
We encourage students to consider enrolling in one of the more than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate courses we will offer this summer. Registration for summer sessions is now open. Additional information about summer sessions is at summer.vcu.edu/.
Additional details about this announcement, including frequently asked questions, is on the summer studies 2020 update webpage.
VCU is committed to getting back to our regular course offerings as soon as possible and we are making plans to return to on-campus instruction for fall 2020.
