Dear VCU colleagues,

At VCU, inquiry, creativity, and innovation are synonymous with public impact research. In recent years, we have seen significant growth in our research, scholarship, and creative practices across our Monroe Park, MCV, and VCU Qatar campuses. We’re ready to take that success further to help enrich the human condition.

As a follow on to our all-time high sponsored research activity, I invite you to "Join the Conversation: The Future of One VCU Research," an hour-long webinar at 3 p.m., Oct. 20, featuring a conversation at VCU’s Institute for Contemporary Art between myself and President Michael Rao on this bold and ambitious strategic research priorities plan.

We'll discuss the initiative and its origins, our progress and how it gives everyone a path to participate in public impact research that crosses the borders of schools, colleges, departments and disciplines. These inter-, cross-, and trans-disciplinary projects drive innovation and discoveries that improve our community, society and world.

President Rao and I are excited to talk to you about plans to put funding resources, professional incentives, and support behind this plan for VCU.

To be a part of this conversation, register here. I urge you to consider submitting, during the registration process, a question for consideration that may be addressed during the event's Q&A session.
