Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the new VCU Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Fund to support VCU faculty engaging in scholarly activities and creative endeavors in those disciplines.

The Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Fund was created collaboratively by the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. It is designed to support, facilitate and enhance the creation, production and dissemination of arts, humanities and social sciences research and creative activity at any stage of development, including initial or mid-stage project development, presentation or performance, and final publication.

Projects must align with at least one of the goals and objectives of the One VCU Strategic Research Priorities Plan. Principal investigators eligible for these funds must be full-time VCU faculty regardless of rank or tenure status. Both single- and multi-scholar or artist grants are eligible.

Applications are now open. Full applications are due by April 15, 2022 for funding up to $10,000 for a 12-month period. Awards will be announced on June 15, 2022, with projects starting on July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023.

For detailed information on application requirements and format, download the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Fund request for applications. In addition, remember that information on the VCU Accelerate, Breakthroughs and Quest Funds are also available on the One VCU Research Strategic Priorities Plan funds webpage.

This is an exciting time for VCU. Providing new opportunities for all faculty, regardless of discipline, is a commitment that the university has made to support your continued impact.
